The plane only flew for nine minutes before returning to Banjul.

Later in the day, Wrexham shared an update confirming the well-being of The Gambia national team along with their star defender Jacob Mendy. The team safely reached its destination and held a training session before flying out to Yamoussoukro where they are set to face Senegal in their tournament opener on Monday.
